Removing syrup feeders from hives
This is a reminder that we should stop feeding liquid syrup to hives, as daily temperatures drop below 50F.
At BeeManiacs bee yard we're removing any feeders left in the yard and getting the hives ready for winter (adding top insulations, in our case).
If you have any colony that may not have about 80 lbs of honey for our Inland Northwest winter, you may need to supplement with a winter feed like https://www.beemaniacs.com/product/pro-winter-patties-1lb/
This is supposed to be a colder than usual winter due to "la niña" effect. Clod weather will not be an issue as long as our hives get some regular breaks on sunny days, where they can take cleansing flights and break cluster to relocate or bring honey to the current cluster location.
