Medium Box with Wooden Frames with Plastic Foundation – Assembled – 10F

These Prime pine boxes come with 10 Premium Medium wooden frames with plastic foundation (covered with beeswax). You can select black or plastic foundation color.

Approximated box size is: 6 5/8″ high x 16 1/4″ wide x 19 7/8″ length

Comes assembled with glue and staples and unpainted. If you paint or protect the wood, please only paint the outside face of the box, leaving the wood exposed to the bees inside.

Regularly used as “super” boxes (to store honey), but some beekeepers also use these boxes as brood boxes. You can use it in any combination/position you want. The bees cannot see the color of the frame inside the hive (it’s pitch dark inside) so the color option won’t affect the bees. You can choose the color you want. Black foundation should provide a good contrast to see eggs if you use these boxes for brood.

We have two qualities available in our store: Prime and Economy. Prime woodenware has fewer or smaller knots and the pieces of wood are more even and flat, which makes better quality woodenware.

Economy woodenware is as strong but contains more knots that could warp the wood and may leave some gaps. We offer Economy woodenware in-store only (you can walk in and buy in the store when available, at a discounted price). Economy woodenware is considered on-sale. There are no returns or exchanges for Economy woodenware and we do not sell the economy version of this box online.
